Azam & Rai engaged to defend client against criminal prosecution under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002

Azam & Rai has been engaged by a software engineer to defend her against criminal prosecution arising from a legal action brought against her and her co-employees by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002 on the complaint of their former employer, a software house, for the alleged unauthorized access and transfer of electronic files, which she denies. This is the first prosecution of its kind in Pakistan under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002.
